Career Opportunities in Clinical Drug Research
Worst Possible Interview Mistakes
The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) has announced that delegate passes are now available for its 2010 Annual Spring Conference and Exhibition – which features a number of exciting changes.
The new-look event will place greater focus on the programme and conference sessions and will incorporate a smaller exhibition area providing delegates with access to a more targeted range of exhibitors.
The two-day event – at the Hilton London Metropole on April 19th and 20th – entitled Science, Society and Economics: Shaping the future of clinical research will feature speaker sessions across four themes covering Science, Society, Economics and Operations.
Janette Benaddi, chair of the ICR, said: “We have listened to our members and tailored the conference and exhibition to better meet their needs.
“We have created an excellent conference programme and adapted the exhibition floor to feature exhibitors with greater relevance to our delegates. We are also introducing a networking drinks reception on the Monday evening in the exhibition hall which should help our members create new alliances.”
Closing the conference on day one will be Professor Richard Lilford, of the clinical epidemiology department at the University of Birmingham and Professor Karl Claxton, of the Department of Economics at the University of York. They will be discussing the contentious area of Health Economics, including the processes and ethics involved.
Other confirmed speakers include Emma Butlin, a GCP inspector for the MHRA, and Dr Mark Lewis, a health management and clinical research consultant, who will be looking at translating R&D strategy. In addition, the programme will include sessions covering topics such as medical devices, patient recruitment and paediatric regulations.
Janette added: “We chose this year’s conference title to highlight the relationship between wider issues in society and clinical research. We have some highly experienced speakers this year and I know our members will find sessions informative and stimulating.”
Prices for delegate passes have been frozen at 2009 rates - one and two day passes are currently available. Delegates can register online via the website at www.icr-global.org.
